Cassiavellia galtarae
Taxonomy
Cassiavellia galtarae was named by Temkin and Pojeta (2010). Its type specimen is AMNH 63458, a valve (Left valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is AMNH512, Guadalupe Pass, Guadalupe Mountains, which is in a Roadian slope limestone in the Cherry Canyon Formation of Texas. It is the type species of Cassiavellia.
