Trinacromerum kirki was named by Russell (1935). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Northwest of Treherne, which is in a Turonian marine horizon in the Favel Formation of Canada.
It was recombined as Dolichorhynchops kirki by Russell (1932) and Welles (1962).
