Taxonomy
Isculites was named by Mojsisovics (1886) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Anis-l Tr Anis-m Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Isculitidae.

It was assigned to Haloritidae by von Mojsisovics (1896) and Smith (1927); to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Isculitidae by Spath (1951), Tozer (1981) and Ji and Bucher (2018).
