Taxonomy
Calamagras murivorus was named by Cope (1873). Its type specimen is AMNH No. 1603, a set of vertebrae (six articulated vertebrae), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cedar Creek, which is in an Orellan terrestrial horizon in the Brule Formation of Colorado.
