Popanoceras haugi
Taxonomy
Popanoceras haugi was named by Hyatt and Smith (1905). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Union Wash, Parapopanoceras beds, Inyo Range, which is in a Spathian slope limestone in the Union Wash Formation of California. It is the type species of Globopopanoceras.
It was recombined as Popanoceras (Parapopanoceras) haugi by Smith (1914); it was recombined as Globopopanoceras haugi by Waterhouse (1997); it was recombined as Neopopanoceras haugi by Spath (1951) and Guex et al. (2010).
