Taxonomy
Neoaganides gigantus was named by Liang (1983). Its type specimen is NIGP 72336 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tudi Monastery, Tanjiashan, Xiangtan County, which is in a Kungurian marine limestone in the Qixia Formation of China.
