Taxonomy
Timorites yunnanensis was named by Liang (1983). Its type specimen is NIGP 72340 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Youhua, Yongning, Ninglang County, which is in a Capitanian open shallow subtidal limestone in the Maokou Formation of China.
