Taxonomy
Berckhemeraster charistikos was named by Blake and Hagdorn (2003). Its type specimen is Holotype SMNS 75099, Paratypes SMNS 75100, MHI 1716/1, MHI 1716/2 and is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Berckhemeraster.
