Fusichonetes pygmaea
Taxonomy
Fusichonetes pigmaea was named by Liao (1980). Its type specimen is NIGP 43500 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Jiaozishan Section Bed 28 (AJ-46), Anshun County, which is in a Changhsingian offshore mudstone/chert in China.
It was recombined as Plicochonetes pigmaea by Liao (1980); it was recombined as Waagenites pigmaea by Liao (1984), Liao (1987); it was recombined as Tethyochonetes pigmaea by Shen and Archbold (2002), He and Shi (2014); it was recombined as Tethyochonetes pygmaea by Zhang et al. (2013); it was considered a nomen nudum by Liao (1979); it was corrected as Fusichonetes pygmaea by Wu et al. (2017), Wu et al. (2018), Wu et al. (2019), He et al. (2019), Wu and Zhang (2020).
It was recombined as Plicochonetes pigmaea by Liao (1980); it was recombined as Waagenites pigmaea by Liao (1984), Liao (1987); it was recombined as Tethyochonetes pigmaea by Shen and Archbold (2002), He and Shi (2014); it was recombined as Tethyochonetes pygmaea by Zhang et al.
