Taxonomy
Cyrtella furcata was named by Waterhouse (1987). Its type specimen is UQ F13932 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UQ L997, Cattle Creek, upstream from Consuelo Creek, which is in an Artinskian marine shale in the Sirius Formation of Australia.
