Taxonomy
Lianyuanoceras shenjiachongense was named by Zhou (1985). Its type specimen is NIGP 70759 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shenjiachong, Lijialong, Lianyuan County, which is in a Kungurian marine mudstone in the Dangchong Formation of China.
