Taxonomy
Anotoceras costatum was named by Wang and Chen (1979). Its type specimen is NIGP 33932 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Maduo Yu I-122-F-1, Maduo County, which is in a Griesbachian/Smithian marine horizon in the Bayankalashan Formation of China.
