Taxonomy

Xenoceltites subevolutus was named by Spath (1930). It is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Xenoceltites.

Synonyms

Xenoceltites spitsbergensis was named by Spath (1934). Its type specimen is BMNH C. 21961 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mt. Trident, Sassendal, which is in a Spathian marine horizon in the Kongressfjellet Formation of Svalbard and Jan Mayen.

It was synonymized subjectively with Xenoceltites subevolutus by Dagis and Ermakova (1990), Brayard et al. (2021).
Xenoceltites gregoryi was named by Spath (1934). Its type specimen is BMNH C. 27220 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mt. Trident, Sassendal, which is in a Spathian marine horizon in the Kongressfjellet Formation of Svalbard and Jan Mayen.

It was synonymized subjectively with Xenoceltites subevolutus by Dagis and Ermakova (1990), Brayard et al. (2021).
Xenodiscus douglasensis was named by Mathews (1929).

It was synonymized subjectively with Xenoceltites subevolutus by Dagis and Ermakova (1990).
