Taxonomy
Juvenites crassus was named by Tozer (1961). Its type specimen is GSC 14081 and is a 3D body fossil.
It was synonymized subjectively with Melagathiceras globosus by Dagis and Ermakova (1990); it was recombined as Melagathiceras crassum by Tozer (1994).
