A. Cau and F. Fanti 2011 | "Non-brevirostrine metriorhynchoid that differs from other taxa by the following unique combination of features: 1. prefrontal trapezoidal in dorsal view, with the lateral border markedly angular, having the inflection point forming a 75-80° angle with the rostrocaudal axis of the skull; 2. in dorsal view, caudolateral margin of the prefrontal concave (autapomorphy) and perpendicular to the rostrocaudal axis of the postorbital process of the frontal; 3. interorbital region that is 80% of the sum of the widths of a single supratemporal fossa and the frontoparietal bar (autapomorphy); postorbital ramus of frontal forms a 60-70° angle with the medial ramus of the frontal; 5. large trapezoidal supratemporal fossa, with the lateral margin well beyond the lateralmost extent of the prefrontal, having its rostral margin placed rostral to the frontal-postorbital suture but caudal to the point of minimal width of the interorbital region; 6. in dorsal view, postorbital distinctly bends caudally at about 110-120° at the level of the rostrolateral margin of the supratemporal arch." |
