Taxonomy
Partanosaurus zitteli was named by Skuphos (1893). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Braz, Klosterthal, which is in a Ladinian marine horizon in the Partnach Formation of Austria.
It was synonymized subjectively with Simosaurus gaillardoti by Rieppel (1996).
