Taxonomy
Cimmeriella willi was named by Taboada and Pagani (2010). Its type specimen is LIEB-PI 209, a valve (Ventral valve internal mold), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Puesto Tres Lagunas, 6th fossiliferous horizon, Chubut, which is in a Bashkirian/Moscovian marine sandstone/conglomerate in the Mojon de Hierro Formation of Argentina.
