Taxonomy
Notospirifer extensus tweedalei was named by Campbell (1961) [As Notospirifer extensus tweedalei]. Its type specimen is UQ F24061 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Oakey Creek, 2 miles south of Homevale Homestead, which is in a Roadian marine siliciclastic in Australia.
It was recombined as Tweedaleia tweedalei by Waterhouse and Shi (2010).
