Taxonomy
Eumorphotis amplicostata was named by Ciriacks (1963). Its type specimen is MCZ 15664 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Frying Pan Gulch, Beaverhead County, which is in a Griesbachian marine mixed carbonate-siliciclastic in the Dinwoody Formation of Montana.
