Murchisonia (Coelocaulus) alceste was named by Perner (1907) [Murchisonia (Coelocaulus) Alceste]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lochkov, which is in a Pridoli carbonate limestone in the Pozáry Formation of Czechia.
It was recombined as Coelocaulus alceste by Wagner (2023).
