Nicrosaurus kapffi

Taxonomy
Belodon kapffi was named by Meyer (1860). Its type specimen is SMNS 4060, 4060a, uncat. no. 15, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Heslach quarries, Stuttgart, "Heslacher Wand", which is in a Norian fluvial-lacustrine sandstone in the Löwenstein Formation of Germany.

It was recombined as Lophoprosopus kapffi by Mehl (1915); it was recombined as Phytosaurus kapffi by Gregory (1962); it was recombined as Nicrosaurus kapffi by Kuhn (1971), Long and Murry (1995), Hungerbühler (1998), Hungerbühler and Hunt (2000), Stocker and Butler (2013).
