Taxonomy
Aglyptorhynchus venablesi was named by Casier (1966). Its type specimen is BMNH B 26157, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bognor Regis, London Clay, which is in a Ypresian offshore claystone in the London Clay Formation of the United Kingdom.
