Helicoconchus elongatus
Taxonomy
Helicoconchus elongatus was named by Wilson et al. (2011). Its type specimen is NHM PI AN 1183 (aggregation of tubes) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Farm-to-Market Road 1929 roadcut, which is in an Artinskian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Bead Mountain Formation of Texas. It is the type species of Helicoconchus.
