Taxonomy
Tritylodontoides maximus was named by Fourie (1963). It is a mold. Its type locality is Magetzane (292), which is in a Pliensbachian terrestrial sandstone in the Clarens Formation of South Africa. It is the type species of Tritylodontoides.
