Bakevellia (Neobakevellia) dodaioensis was named by Truschelev (1996). Its type specimen is 955/5, a valve (Left valve), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Dodayo Creek, hedenstroemi zone, Tompo Basin, which is in a Smithian marine siliciclastic in the Russian Federation.
