Taxonomy
Ceratites subrobustus was named by Mojsisovics (1886). It is the type species of Keyserlingites, Robustites.

It was recombined as Robustites subrobustus by Philippi (1901); it was recombined as Keyserlingites subrobustus by Hyatt (1900), Diener (1907), Spath (1934), Kummel (1969), Dagis and Ermakova (1988), Tozer (1994) and Dagis et al. (1996).
