Taxonomy
Otapiria (Praeotapiria) bakevelliaeformis was named by Kurushin (1985). Its type specimen is IGiG 753/9869 and is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Praeotapiria.
It was recombined as Praeotapiria bakevelliaeformis by Dagis et al. (1996); it was recombined as Otapiria bakevelliaeformis by Dagys and Kurushin (1985), Ros-Franch et al. (2014).
