Rhaetidia was named by Bittner (1895) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Anis-u Tr Nori-u Sepkoski's reference number: 864]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Rhaetidiidae.
It was assigned to Veneroida by Sepkoski (2002); to Sowerbyidae by Ros-Franch et al. (2014); and to Rhaetidiidae by Dominici and Danise (2024).
