Disjectopora irregulara was named by Fan et al. (1991). Its type specimen is IG LRI 20-7 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Laolongdong Reef, Beipei, which is in a Changhsingian reef, buildup or bioherm bafflestone/wackestone in the Changxing Formation of China.
