Taxonomy
Tumuliolynthus orthacanthus was named by Yang and He (1984). It is not extant. Its type locality is Nanjiang, which is in a Meishucunian marine horizon in the Dengying Formation of China.

It was recombined as Acanthocassis orthacanthus by He and Xie (1989).
