Sosioceras pygmaeum
Taxonomy
Brancoceras pygmaeum was named by Gemmellaro (1888). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rocca di San Benedetto, calcare compatto, Sosio, which is in a Wordian carbonate limestone in Italy. It is the type species of Sosioceras.
It was recombined as Neoaganides pygmaeus by Miller and Furnish (1957); it was recombined as Sosioceras pygmaeum by Frest et al. (1981) and Leonova (2002).
