Zhonglupuceras mapesi
Taxonomy
Pseudohalorites mapesi was named by Frest et al. (1981). Its type specimen is USNM 304010 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM726o, Old Word Ranch, Glass Mountains, which is in a Kungurian carbonate limestone in the Cathedral Mountain Formation of Texas.
It was synonymized subjectively with Zhonglupuceras celestre by Zhou (1985); it was recombined as Zhonglupuceras mapesi by Leonova (2002).
