Taxonomy

Ammonites subinsignis was named by Oppel (1856).

It was recombined as Bredyia subinsignis by Schweigert (1996), Kovács (2009).

Synonyms

Burtonia crassornata was named by Buckman (1910).

It was synonymized subjectively with Bredyia subinsignis by Kovács (2009).
Hammatoceras dumortieri was named by Prinz (1904).

It was synonymized subjectively with Bredyia subinsignis by Kovács (2009).
Hammatoceras vighi was named by Geczy (1966). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lower Dogger, Tűzkövesárok Quarry, Bakony Mountain, which is in an Aalenian/Bajocian deep subtidal limestone in Hungary.

It was synonymized subjectively with Bredyia subinsignis by Kovács (2009).
