Texoceras texanum
Taxonomy
Agathiceras texanum was named by Girty (1909). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS 2967 green, El Capitan, Guadalupe Mountains, which is in a Roadian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Cutoff Formation of Texas. It is the type species of Texoceras.
It was recombined as Texoceras texanum by Miller and Furnish (1940), Leonova (2002).
