Taxonomy
Ammonites inflatus was named by Sowerby (1818). It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Schloenbachia inflata by Szajnocha (1885), Choffat (1888), Meunier (1888), Choffat (1905) and Boule et al. (1907); it was recombined as Mortoniceras (Pervinquieria) inflatum by Spath (1932); it was recombined as Pervinquieria inflata by Haas (1942) and Besairie and Collignon (1972); it was recombined as Mortoniceras (Mortoniceras) inflatum by Amédro et al. (2004), Szives (2007), Mosavinia et al. (2007), Kennedy and Latil (2007) and El Qot (2018).
