Taxonomy
Stellispongia verrucosa was named by Roemer (1864). It is not extant. Its type locality is Germania IV quarry, Niedersachsen, which is in a Campanian/Campanian offshore shelf marl/limestone in Germany.
It was recombined as Myrmeciophytum verrucosum by Schrammen (1910); it was recombined as Phymoracia verrucosa by Finks et al. (2004).
