Taxonomy
Discodermia colossea was named by Schrammen (1910). It is not extant. Its type locality is Teutonia Nord quarry, Late Campanian, Misburg, which is in a Campanian offshore shelf marl/limestone in Germany.
It was recombined as Cladodermia colossea by Schrammen (1924); it was recombined as Phyllodermia (Cladodermia) colossea by Finks et al. (2004).
