Taxonomy
Macroporella verticillata was named by Pia (1940). Its type specimen is USNM 118143 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS 2964, 10 miles NW of Kent, Delaware Mountains, which is in a Roadian/Capitanian slope limestone in the Delaware Mountain Formation of Texas.
