Taxonomy
Hemichonetes hemipleura was named by Lee and Su (1980). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Yanji Section, Undivided, which is in a Wordian/Capitanian marine horizon in China. It is the type species of Hemichonetes, Hexigtenichonetes.
It was recombined as Hexigtenichonetes hemipleura by Shen et al. (2017).
