Taxonomy
Cerithium dislocatum was named by Say (1822). It is extant.

It was recombined as Terebra dislocata by Holmes (1858), Richards (1962), Massemin et al. (2009); it was recombined as Terebra (Strioterebrum) dislocata by Woodring (1928), Grant, IV and Gale (1931), Olsson and Harbison (1953), DuBar (1958); it was recombined as Strioterebrum dislocatum by Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
