Taxonomy
Cardiella ruzhencevi was named by Leonova (1981). Its type specimen is PIN 312/13787 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shikhanchik Hill, Tra-Tau Reef, Bashkortostan, which is in an Artinskian carbonate limestone in the Baigendzhi Formation of the Russian Federation.
