Taxonomy
Neochonetes (Huangichonetes) meishanensis was named by Li and Shen (2008). Its type specimen is NIGP 141876, a valve (Ventral valve internal mold), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Meishan Section C MSC3-17, which is in a Wuchiapingian coastal mudstone in the Longtan Formation of China.
