Pirula kachhensis was named by Vredenburg (1925) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene; Pakistan.]. Its type specimen is Unknown number, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Ficus kachhensis by Harzhauser et al. (2009), Squires (2014).
