Arca diluvii was named by Lamarck (1805). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Anadara (Anadara) diluvii by Anderson (1959); it was recombined as Diluvarca diluvii by Nordsieck (1972); it was recombined as Anadara diluvii by Moths (1989); it was recombined as Scapharca (Scapharca) diluvii by Janssen (1984) and Moths et al. (2010).
