Eogavialis africanum
Taxonomy
Tomistoma africanum was named by Andrews (1901). Its type specimen is CGM 10006, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Beadnell Section, which is in a Priabonian coastal sandstone in the Qasr el-Sagha Formation of Egypt.
It was recombined as Eogavialis africanus by Kraus (1998); it was recombined as Eogavialis africanum by Puértolas et al. (2011).
