Taxonomy
Semibrachythyrina mucronata was named by Liang (1990). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lengwu, lower Cunhouling Member, Tonglu, which is in a Capitanian coastal siliciclastic in the Lengwu Formation of China.
It was recombined as Alphaneospirifer mucronata by Clapham (2015).
