Taxonomy
Richthofenia anshunensis was named by Liao (1980). Its type specimen is NIGP 43505 and is a mold. Its type locality is Jiaozishan Section Bed 25 (AJ-43), Anshun County, which is in a Changhsingian carbonate limestone/shale in China.
