Mauritanichthys rugosus
Taxonomy
Mauritanichthys rugosus was named by Martin (1980). Its type specimen is MNHN Alm312, a partial skeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Locality XI, Alili n'yifis, Alma, which is in a Carnian terrestrial horizon in the Timezgadiouine Formation of Morocco. It is the type species of Mauritanichthys.
