Taxonomy
Saffordotaxis multinodata was named by Wass (1968). Its type specimen is UQ F43419 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UQ L2580, Fossil Ridge, Cracow, which is in a Wordian carbonate limestone in the Oxtrack Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Crockfordia multinodata by Morozova (2004).
