Taxonomy
Pecten keyserlingianus was named by Stuckenberg (1875).

It was recombined as Aviculopecten keyserlingianus by Stuckenberg (1898); it was corrected as Pecten keyserlingi by Tschernyschew (1902); it was recombined as Pecten (Aequipecten) keyserlingi by Frebold (1937); it was recombined as Morrisipecten keyserlingi by Muromtseva and Guskov (1984).
